Dear Mr Lewis

Last week you will have received a copy of an email (a further copy of the e-mail is attached).

The intended primary recipients of that email were John Tiner at the FSA, and Walter Merricks at the FOS.

However since that date an article has appeared in Money Marketing entitled: "Treasury minister wants to hear IFA grievances on FSA"

I would ask therefore that Mr Lewis now considers the email as a pre-cursory answer to his request, and that he regard himself as an additional primary recipient of the email and not as included for information purposes only.

I would appreciate confirmation that the change in emphasis and intended purpose has been noted.

The email makes a specific request of both the FSA and the FOS in that they advise us as to their intended future treatment of correspondence, may we clarify that this aspect does not apply to Mr Lewis.

Further correspondence should not however be expected by Mr Lewis until we have received a reply from the FSA and the FOS.

We will reconsider that comment if we do not here from either party; which as matters stand is what we have been advised will occur, namely that our correspondence will be filed unanswered.
